Week Two | The Beach | Early Tuesday Evening

[ She wonders if this part of the beach makes anyone else feel the same way-- when she remembers everything that's transpired here ( Haru's body, Nino's eye) she feels sad, but she also feels like there's something unfinished.

Everything begs for more answers and offers even more questions.

She hates feeling this way. ]

Good evening!

[ She looks up when he approaches. The sun has just started to set, she's kneeling in the sand braiding palm leaves together into what look like little birds. ]

It's unusual to see someone else here, most people avoid this part of the beach.

[ For obvious reasons.. ]

[ of course most people would avoid this particular area of the beach. even though the waves and the sand have gotten rid of any and all blood and evidence of what transpired over the past weekend, it's not easy to forget anything that he's seen.

it's raw, and part of the reasons why he's at this particular part of the beach today is because he'd gone out into the jungle and the oasis and returned with flowers - ones that he knows aren't poisonous, at the very least.

there aren't candles here, after all.

he's also not expecting to see Jinah here- and while he hasn't really spoken with her very much, at the very least he acknowledges her, inclines his head and moves a little closer to her, drawn by the way she's braiding palm leaves together. ]

I wouldn't blame them, especially since we'll probably be summoned here on a weekly basis from here on out.

[ executions suck. body gore also sucks.

the sea is almost licking at their feet, and Lelouch crouches down to join her where she kneels in the sand. ]

You're pretty good with your hands.

[ at the very least, here's some idle small talk. ]

Any reason why you aren't avoiding this part of the beach?

[ it's more curious than confrontational. ]

[ She hums quietly to herself, like she's mulling on an answer, like she's not even so sure herself. She doesn't stop folding them even when she finally speaks. ]

Because it's quiet-- not many places on Moron Island are.

[ The Chief's name for it, not hers. Though she seems to have little trouble repeating it. ]

And.. because being here helps me remember things I didn't know I'd forgotten.

[ She finishes another one of her little birds and sets it down, eyes him curiously. ]

And you?

[ the name of the island gets a snort from him, at least. ] Murder Island, I think, is more appropriate.

[ another pause, although the curiosity is layered with a little more. some measure of appraisal, actually, and his gaze flickers towards the folded bird before it rests back on her. ]

I guess you could say something that we're here for similar reasons.

[ he lifts his hand to brush his hair our of his eyes, although if Jinah's watching, she may nothing that his hand lingers over his eye a little longer than absolutely necessary. ]

[ She does watch, rather carefully at that. Though her guesses at what might be bothering him are much more innocuous than what they actually are. ]

What's wrong? Do you have something in your eye? I think I have a clean handkerchief if you need one.

[ She looks a little concerned, truthfully she's more curious than anything. He'd been so poised up until this point, seemingly unbothered despite where they were.

Everyone else she'd spoken to here seemed to be a bit more wary than he was. ]
